1 T. butter at room temperature
2 ripe pears, peeled, seeded, then sliced
3 apples, various types, peeled, seeded, then sliced
3 T. butter at room temperature
1/4 C. granola
1/4 C. chopped walnuts
1/4 C. plain bread crumbs
1/2 C. brown sugar
1/4 t. cinnamon
Rub a 9 X 13 inch glass baking dish with the single tablespoon of soft butter. Place the apple and pear slices in a bowl with some water and lemon juice. In a mixing bowl, blend the 3 tablespoons of butter with the granola, nuts, breadcrumbs and cinnamon until it's a crumbly texture. Drain the fruits, dry on paper towels, then evenly distribute them in the buttered baking dish. Spread with the crumbly topping and pop into a 350 degree oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove, allow to cool 10 minutes or so and serve.
