1 T. butter 1 garlic clove, minced 1 T. all-purpose flour 1/4 t. salt 1/8 t. cayenne pepper 1 C. milk 1 T. Dijon mustard
In a small saucepan, melt butter and garlic over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and cayenne pepper until smooth. Cook 1-2 minutes stirring until mixture has a nutty aroma (do not allow to brown). Add milk all at once, whisking constantly until mixture comes to a boil and is slightly thickened. Remove from heat; whisk in Dijon mustard.
