2 lbs. Bulk Italian Sausage or ground beef
3 medium onions, chopped (1-1/2 C.)
2 C. sliced mushrooms
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 (14.5oz) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (29oz.) tomato sauce
1 (12oz.) can tomato paste
2 Tbsp. dried basil leaves
1 Tbsp. dried oregano leaves
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1. Cook sausage (or beef), onion, mushrooms and garlic in 12-inch skillet over medium heat about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink and drain.
2. Spoon sausage (or beef) mixture into 5 qt slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 8-9 hours or until vegetables are tender
