Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
2-3/4 C. flour
2 t. cream of tartar
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 C. shortening, softened
1-1/2 C. granulated sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
2 T. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions
1. Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. 
2. With electric mixer on medium, cream shortening with 1-1/2 C. sugar and eggs until very light and fluffy.
3. At low speed beat in flour mixture until batter is dough-like.  Chill until easy to handle.
4. Start heating oven to 400 degrees.  Mix sugar and cinnamon.  Form dough into walnut size balls; roll in sugar and cinnamon mix.  Place 2 inches apart, on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 8-10 minutes or until done.
