2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 16-oz jars salsa
3 C. sliced fresh mushrooms (8oz)
1-1/2 C. shredded carrots
1-1/2 C. finely chopped red and green sweet peppers
1/3 C. tomato paste
2 t. dried basil, crushed
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 t. dried oregano, crushed
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. cayenne pepper
18 kaiser rolls
1. In a large skillet cook ground beef over med heat until brown, using a wooden spoon to break up meat as it cooks. Drain off fat. In a 5-6 quart slow cooker stir together the meat, salsa, mushrooms, carrots, sweet peppers, tomato paste, basil, garlic, oregano, salt and cayenne pepper.
2. cover and cook on low heat for 8-10 hours or high heat for 4-5 hours.
